In ancient Greek religion, the deity of the underworld was called Hades, which is derived from the word ades, which means "the Unseen." Hades was also known as Pluto or Pluton, which means "the Wealthy One" or "the Giver of Wealth." Hades was the son of the Titans Cronus and Rhea and the brother of the gods Zeus, Poseidon, Hera, and Hestia. Hades was also known as the Underworld.
In spite of the fact that many Hollywood depictions try to give the impression otherwise, Hades is never the antagonist in any Greek myth. On the other hand, Hades is helpful to heroes when they seek assistance from him. Hercules must complete the task of delivering Cerberus, the three-headed guard dog of Hades, to the world of the living as part of one of his Twelve Labors.
What sort of abilities and talents did he possess? Hades was in full command of the underworld and all of its inhabitants at the time. Invisibility was one of his unique powers, in addition to the fact that he was a god who lived forever. He donned a headpiece known as the Helm of Darkness, which rendered him invisible to everyone around him.
He was able to travel around in a chariot that was pulled by four dark horses. Hades was in charge of ensuring that the deceased would never leave the Underworld again after their time there. Cerberus, the hound that belonged to Hades, was also known as the Hound of Hades.
